Power cut in Side or Manavgat? How to check and report it

Lights out in your flat or villa? In a few minutes you can tell whether it's a planned outage, a fault on the grid or just your own fuse box – and when the power is expected back.

First: is it just your home or the whole street?

If your neighbours and the stairwell still have lights, the problem is usually inside your home. Check the fuse box: if the main switch or the RCD trip switch (kaçak akım rölesi) has dropped, switch it back on. If it trips again straight away, don't keep resetting it – there's a fault in an appliance or the wiring, and that's a job for an electrician. If the whole street is dark, it's a grid outage.

Is it a planned outage? How to check

  1. Open the outage checker

Go to the AEDAŞ planned outage checker ("Elektrik Kesintisi Sorgulama"). The page is in Turkish, but it only takes a few clicks.

  2. Choose the area and the day

Pick Antalya as the city and Manavgat as the district – Side, Kumköy, Sorgun, Kızılağaç and Çolaklı all belong to Manavgat. Then choose the day (yesterday, today or the next few days) and click "Sorgula".

  3. Find your neighbourhood

The results show when the power will be off and which neighbourhoods (mahalle) are affected. Your mahalle is part of your address – it's on your electricity bill, for example. Past outages are under "Geçmiş Kesintiler".

Power off right now? The outage map

The AEDAŞ outage map lists live faults under "Anlık Kesintiler" and planned work under "Planlanan Bakımlar", each with the start time, the expected end and the affected mahalle. That's also where you'll see when the power should be back.

Report it: call 186

If your area isn't listed, report the power cut to the AEDAŞ fault line on 186; it's open 24 hours a day. Have your address ready, ideally with your installation number (tesisat numarası) – the 10-digit number in the top right corner of your electricity bill.

Get a text before planned outages

AEDAŞ can send you a text message about planned outages. Fill in the SMS form on the AEDAŞ website; you'll need the installation number from your bill. Handy if you only spend part of the year in Manavgat.

Power cut FAQs

Is there a power cut in Side today?

Check the AEDAŞ outage checker (Antalya → Manavgat → today) for planned outages and the outage map for live faults. Side is part of the Manavgat district.

When will the power come back on?

For planned outages and known faults AEDAŞ gives an expected end time. If none is shown, the fault line on 186 can tell you more.

Should I call CK Akdeniz?

CK Akdeniz sells the electricity and sends the bill. Power lines, outages and grid faults are handled by AEDAŞ.

What if the water is off too?

Report water problems to ASAT, Antalya's water authority, on 185.

Good to know

  • In many complexes the booster (hydrophore) and pool pumps run on electricity – during a power cut the water pressure often drops as well.
  • Faults inside your home (fuse box, RCD, wiring) aren't AEDAŞ's job but an electrician's. That's what our own service RivieraFix: plumbing & electrics is for.
